came through winter well

There are a lot of people who’s bees have came through winter well. At this point there is a little brood in the hives but not that much that you have to worry about it. Your winter bees are going to start to die soon and the new bees that start to hatch out in the next couple weeks will replace them. Don’t worry your hives aren’t going to explode. Don’t ad more boxes yet because your bees have to stay warm. The nights are still cold. Try to keep your wraps on for a couple more weeks. Your bees aren’t going to swarm until there is actually something for them to put in their hives. I have a feeling people aren’t going through their hives properly. Most likely when you go through your hives you will find there are a few frames in the bottom box that have no bees on them. This is all just my opinion. I know in my hives there is a bit of capped brood but not a huge amount. Most of it is still open brood which will give you a couple weeks at least before they will hatch out. Most of the bees you see in your hives right now are winter bees and will die by the beginning of May.
